Krishnarajasagara Dam
Krishnarajasagara dam and reservoir is located at 12°26′N 76°23′E 12.44°N 76.38°E. It has an average elevation of 791 metres (2595 feet). It is about two Kms long having 152 Sluices. Built between 1911 and 1933 by the famous engineer of yesteryears Sir M Vishveshwarya and commissioned by the erstwhile Maharaja of Mysore, Krishna Rajendra Wodeyar.  The reservoir of the dam looks endless and seems to have oceanic proportions hence the name ‘Sagara’ (Ocean).
